Tornado Safety

8/25/2020 (Permalink)

Tornadoes, although uncommon in Florida, impact locations all across the country. After the recent tornado touching down in Deland and causing severe damage to several homes and businesses, we here at SERVPRO of North Seminole County and West Volusia have compiled a list of safety tips in the event of a tornado.

  • Keep back up batteries as well as a weather radio in your home or business.
  • Store backup water and non perishable foods in the home as well.
  • Always have a first aid kit in your possesion.
  • Stay up to date on weather patterns and shifts.
  • Have a designated room or area to shelter in, away from windows and on the lowest floor.
  • Do not shelter in a mobile home, find the nearest sturdy building preferably with a basement.

In the event that damage occurs to your home or place of business due to a tornado or major storm...SERVPRO of North Seminole County is here for you. Give us a call at 407-323-2422
